Living only a couple of kilometres from Masterton’s Hood Aerodrome, I’m often buzzed by a variety of historic aircraft.
Over Labour weekend it was a Vintage Aviator Ltd S.E.5a-1 (i.e., a reproduction of the Royal Aircraft Factory SE.5a) which kept making me crane my neck and squint skyward. I stretched the lens of my old Olympus digital and capture this grainy image. Hopefully the Remembrance Day Air Display will provide a chance for some better photos of the Vintage Aviator planes.
